How Has The Recession Affected You?

Almost every day, we are bombarded by news on the "Recession" and the statement "Due to today's economy"... blah, blah, blah. With jobs being lost and high gas prices, some of us are finding small ways to help save a few bucks.

In our home, we are being very careful about leaving lights on, doing laundry in cold water whenever possible and taking advantage of coupon circulars as well as online coupon savings. I find myself stocking up when things go on sale a lot more than I did before I know this is just the tip of the iceberg, but so far it has helped with our utilities and food expenses.

I have subscribed to several money saving blogs, which have given me many great tips on simple things to help save money on groceries.

Of course, the obvious still holds true: Keep eating out to a minimum, when driving, plan exactly where you need to stop so you don't backtrack, waste gas (not to mention driving around aimlessly) and fortunately, we always have a great breeze when the windows are open, so the air is staying off as long as we can stand it!

Has the recession affected you? If so, how. Have you changed jobs, lost a job, are you riding the bus to work instead of driving, carpooling? What about your energy and grocery bills?

I would love to hear your comments and suggestions.
